ROCKLAND COMMUNITY POWER ELECTRICITY SUPPLY PROGRAM: Update for Upper Nyack Residents & Small Businesses

Rockland Community Power

Upper Nyack is proud to participate in the re-launch of the Rockland Community Power program.  The Rockland Community Power program provides eligible residents and small businesses with the option of either standard or renewable electricity supply at competitive, fixed rates, with no individual contracts for consumers and no exit fees.  In the previous round of this program, Village residents collectively saved over $172,700 and avoided 1,060 metric tons of CO2 equivalent emissions relative to what would have been produced with Orange and Rockland’s default supply.

The program gives each of us a way to reduce our carbon footprint, while capping electricity supply rates.  The benefits include the option for renewable energy, strong consumer protection, and the potential for cost savings.  Now this program will re-launch with the newly announced rates in April 2023.  Eligible residents and small businesses received an information packet from the Village in February/March, explaining the program and options to participate or to opt out.  All eligible customers who did not opt out will be automatically enrolled in the program.

If you chose to participate in the program, you will receive a letter from Orange & Rockland, letting you know that you are being switched to a new supplier, Constellation NewEnergy CCA.  Constellation NewEnergy is the electricity supplier selected by the Village of Upper Nyack in a bidding process through the Rockland Community Power program.  In April, you should also see the supplier name and new rates on page two of your O&R bill, under Your Supply Charges.

You can always opt out, opt in, or change your supply options with no fees by calling the number below or changing your option on the website.
