The Hester Haring Cason Preserve

River Hook is a 12- acre preserve in Upper Nyack, NY that is open to the public from dawn until dusk. There are entrances at 626 N. Broadway and 611 N. Midland Ave.

River Hook is a vital, self-sustaining and treasured place for retreat, repose and reinvention where the arts, environment, education and innovation thrive. Where the cultural value and historical significance of Upper Nyack are honored, where forward-facing ideas flourish and where our community unites.

The beautiful old estate, part of one of the original 6 farms of Upper Nyack, has a multi-use path that winds between N. Broadway and N. Midland. Leashed dogs are welcome.

River Hook is a pack-in pack-out preserve. There is limited parking by the N. Midland entrance. There are currently no lavatory facilities. The buildings on the site are closed to the public. View the River Hook Use Policy here.
