Urgent Notice

The Village of Upper Nyack has been notified by our trash carter, Minuto Carting, that a resident inadvertently placed medical waste that contained radiation into the trash. When the driver of the truck was disposing of the waste at the transfer station, the radiation was detected and the truck was ordered to be shut down and remedied.

We ask that all residents, especially anyone disposing of medical waste, to take extra precautions and dispose of it as instructed by your doctor or pharmacist.

If you have any questions, please contact the village hall office and speak with the Village Clerk at (845) 358-0084.

Locally known as Goosetown, our village is a small friendly enclave on the Hudson River, nestled between Nyack and Hook Mountain in the Town of Clarkstown, Rockland County, New York, about 30 miles north of Manhattan.

Upper Nyack Village Hall is located at North Broadway and Castle Heights Avenue, just south of the Empire Hook and Ladder Company and Upper Nyack Elementary School. You are always welcome to stop by the Village Hall with your questions and comments. We also encourage all residents to attend meetings of the Board of Trustees, the Planning Board, The Architectural Board of Review and Zoning Board of Appeals. It is the participation of the residents in this small community that makes it so special.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
